What is Wynne's Diary?

Winifred Llewhellin was born on June 15th 1879.
On November 18th 1895, aged 16, she began writing a diary, and continued doing so until her death. There are 30 large volumes, a record of an ordinary life

How to use the diary.

The site consists of browser strips from which you can activate longer page view sections. When you enter the site, you will see an introductory strip. At the bottom of the strip you will see a Timeline: choose a year, and then click on a month. You MUST click on a month to enter the Diary.

Once you are into the Diary browser strip of your choice notice the icons at the bottom of each box. If you click on them you will open the page view, either to see the full diary entries, or to receive the pictures associated with them.

At the top of the browser strip you will see Highlights: click on the relevant word for access to these specially selected parts of the diary.
